Any carry permits issued yet?

I have a feeling that getting full carry licenses to people who follow all the rules and dot all the i's is about number 99 on a list of 99 priorities in the five person SCPD license bureau. But good luck.

So you have to have an existing pistol license to handle a handgun in the live fire portion? How does that work thought you weren't even allowed to look at a handgun in NYS without one. Seems a little contrary but par for the CCIA course of making it up as you go along.

Are they paying you a decent commission? In six months there will be a dozen places all competing with each other IF the CCIA is struck down. If it isn't why bother, you going to carry in your backyard while you garden?

Yes please keep us posted will be very interesting. Totally nonsense they couldn't do it on the spot you have met the the requirements.

If I had submitted my training certificate and was now waiting the ludicrous 4 months+ I would carry anywhere lawfully allowed now (which is essentially nowhere) and not worry whatsoever about the infinitesimal chance of a) being caught carrying and b) a cop actually who would care about jacking up a licensed handgun owner with a full carry in the works waiting on paperwork. I've carried legally with the sportsman's restriction where allowed "to and from the range" for 30+ years before the CCIA and have never once been remotely close to being stopped. YMMV.

Deliberate slow walking as we have noted countless times. It's the SCPD higher ups way of enforcing their own gun control agenda and has been that way unchallenged for decades. Don't ever think they want or will help in any way us peasants to own and carry guns they work actively against it.

I’m as concerned about stopping for gas and getting caught carrying a handgun on the same level as stopping for gas and getting hit by a meteor. You’d have to have a lot of things go wrong that are your own fault. Thirty years of doing so and never once even close to an incident. Plus if everything possible did go wrong I’d see them in court.

Exactly. You can live your life worrying about a million “what ifs”. I go by my own experience having a handgun license since 1992 And carrying one a thousand times.

Thanks. Actually it is a Gen V ACR-E. I'm a Viper fan and have had seven of them over the years. This one is the last year (2017) limited edition GTS-R. They stopped making them that year and I couldn't resist.

I submitted my renewal on 2/7 and the check was cashed a week later. Still have not received a thing from SCPD and my license expires in two weeks. Getting interesting.....

Welp.....haven't heard a peep on my renewal with 10 days left till expiration. Guess the 8 people that work there are a little busy.
