there was 3 people in my class that did not have a pistol permit they use something call "simunition rounds" its a modified glock that shoots paper wadsSo you have to have an existing pistol license to handle a handgun in the live fire portion? How does that work thought you weren't even allowed to look at a handgun in NYS without one. Seems a little contrary but par for the CCIA course of making it up as you go along.
couldn't have said it better it was a great classGuardian Security is the only place to take the course, learn something and not get ripped off. $397 + 15 admin fee. Top notch, class was no joke, and you will fire 50-100 rds in Front of Matt the owner / instructor. second half of class was taught by a PO. If you think you know too much to take this class / refreasher you shouldn’t be Carrying.
you can carry plenty of places and more to come. If u live in the city then i agree. No way in hell are they getting rid of training plenty of other states have the same training requirements. im happy i got it done so when they do open up the sensitive location i already have my cardAre they paying you a decent commission? In six months there will be a dozen places all competing with each other IF the CCIA is struck down. If it isn't why bother, you going to carry in your backyard while you garden?
i hope your right honestly. But i personally didn't feel like waiting and in my opinion it will be left in. The fact that it wasn't in 53 pages of the judge's order makes me think this way.The fact that other states have a training requirement means nothing post Bruen. The test of Constitutionality is text, history and tradition, not what other states have. The training requirement will be challenged and in my opinion will not survive the new level of scrutiny.
u will be getting a call in a week or so i bet took me about the same timeI'm creeping up 8 weeks on Wednesday and nothing. Certificate submitted 11/23.
soo i was down there adding a new pistol yesterday and saw a guy hand in his certificate it went from 6 weeks for mine now there up to 16 weeks they said ... crazyness just be happy your in and getting yours soon. Once u got it u never will have to go threw it again only renewing as usualWow! I am at 8 weeks tomorrow. Now I'm wondering at what point do I call.
they already maxed out there laws on ccws and most of them will be knocked down in march they literally can no go any further. Once you have your carry your done. Background check in ammo more like they ask u for your license and thats it i just bought 1000 rounds of 9mm was 123Who is to say they don't change the law again & again? I appreciate your optimism. I lost faith in this state years ago. After all this, I will still need a background check for a box of ammo.
in store was just an id and that was it. i also had ammo shipped from targetsport to a shop paid the transfer fee and showed my id same thing that was the extent of the "backround" check oo ya they ask u your occupation thats allIf I order ammo online have it shipped, I don't have to pay for a background check? Just show my license? Are you talking about in store purchase only?

No ones looking at shitTo add to this, they ask for the social media platforms when you go and pick up the carry license. Logically, shouldn't these be listed when you hand in your certificate and pay for the amendment so they have time to look thru it before they give you the license?
No one has or will be charged under this new law because its in the crosshairs. Just carry and live your life. And if someone was to get "stopped " or whatever do u really think there going to charge a person who has never been arrested with a felony i think not.

Also gravity knifes are legal as of 2019dont fool yourself…talk to an attorney that specializes in gun possession charges in this area (there are many) and they will tell you differently.

State Police: Zero complaints or arrests on concealed carry law
New York State Police has received no complaints, leading to no arrests, for violations...
i hear thatthey might not prosecute on that specific law. But I supply legal research for various weapon possessions every single day to my clients.
only some police are your friends, others want to look good on their performance reviews and hate guns
