Question, if the average citizen is required to know the law, shouldn't the people paid to enforce it know the law, if not be experts? Not trying to hate, but how would you feel if your kid's math teacher was not proficient in math, or your car mechanic did not know how to fix your car, or your doctor did not know the correct treatment for your illness? Don't hate, just think about it. Flame suit on :)

To provoke an incident like that does nothing for our cause. I would prefix the word "jerk" with the word "foolish".

I have to be in somewhat agreement here. How about all of the cops that walk away from incidents like this? Don't you think it puts them on the wrong side of the fight. They probably walk away saying well it would be nice if we didn't even have laws like this on the books so we wouldn't have to deal with it. And now you have a negatively effected cop who passes that feeling along to several other people and all for what?? To probe a point?!

In my opinion he was not provoking anything.  He was respectful, followed all of the officers directions and asked permission before he left.  He wanted to make sure his girlfriend was ok.  Should he have removed his gun beforehand?  Why?  He did not break any law.

You know what, take the gun out of the equation.  Your walking down the street and a cop asks you for Id.  Do you say yes sir, or do you question?

What is this guys reason to open carry ? To provoke an incident ? To educate ? How about if he had given a copy of the law to the officer berfore he played YES I CAN ...NO YOU CAN"T with the cop ? that cop might have been enlightened and then go back t the police station and pass that info to the other cops so the don't get involved in a video incident.
For me . guy had a good idea a set of balls and bad long term plan.

He was definatley looking to evoke a response. He got it by walking up to an officer while performing a car stop. That is not the actions of a reasonable person. If wants to "test" the law let him walk into a 7 Eleven not by waalking up on an officer during a car stop.

His girlfriend called him and told him she got pulled over.
