Hey guys,
For the NYC handgun permit application, i need to fill out a Affidavit of Co-Habitant if i live with someone over 18 years of age. well i live with my family (dad, mom, and brother) all of who are over 18 years of age. do i need ALL of them to fill out a Affidavit of Co-Habitant or can i just have the head of the household (mother) sign it?

So what is the constitutionality of your wife denying you a gun?
Zilch.

But after the fees to apply, who can afford a lawyer to fight it...then the divorce, then because of the divorce the wife gets a TRO against the husband, and he gets denied for that.

Moral of the story: Don't get married, and don't live in New York. ;D

Why didn't you tell me that 33 years ago?

+10000000%!! Leave the wife once she refuses then apply. She has no reason to get an RSO once you move out of the house. She will also have no say in your getting a permit.

Thanks guys!

Btw I noticed that the form about designating someone to safeguard your firearm incase of applicant's death does not contain a line to notarized. Does it need to be notarized?

No. That page does'nt have the Notary Public line on it. Have someone you trust (and is clean of felonies and not nuts) to be your safeguard and sign. At that same time, have someone who's willing to sign watch your safeguard sign their name (make sure their clean for good measure, give 'em nothing to say NO about). Notary should do it as a freebie, if not, get a friend, get a relative.

Did mine and droppin it off tomorrow.

I've got to hand it to you NYC guys. I'd be pulling my hair out jumping through the loops you go through to get your license...

And Lamont, no bald jokes...good luck my friend.

this affadavit requirement is what caused me to not be able to get my NYC pistol permit. My parents are quite anti-gun and wouldn't sign for me due to their religious and moral convictions.

ever since, I applied for my long gun permit which got approved etc. and I have been a licensed NYC long gun owner now for 3 years without any incidents. As a matter of fact my anti gun parents got over it too and dont mind it, but yet, ask them to sign the affadavit and they still wont do it!!!

I cant wait till summer comes so I can get my own place.
