Without a doubt, Jersey's off the "possible places to retire to" list!

Wow, this has to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever read. There are so many screwed up people in it.

1. The overzealous idiot mom who just had to call 911 for little reason.
2. The jury who should all be absolutely ashamed of themselves, it doesn't matter if the judge wouldn't give them the law. Any minuscule amount of common sense dictates this is not a 7 year crime.
3. The state of NJ, of course, for creating such dumb laws in the first place (hmmm, kinda like NY?)
4. and the worst of all, the horrible, activist, pig of a judge who blatantly abused his power and went after this guy. Losing his job is not enough. He should be tried himself for dereliction of duty, false imprisonment, corruption, something.

Very well put!
Thoroughly nauseating.  What do you do if you can't find a real criminal?  Create one and trot him out in front of the TV cameras, so you can appear to be an "effective prosecutor".  God bless America.
