A real damn man !

Best story I heard was during the height of the Viet Nam war he and actor buddy Jimmy Stewart were together at some event. Because of the Dukes politics there were anti war hippies protesting outside. One of them had the North Vietnamese flag and made a remark to Stewart. Stewarts son had recently been killed in VN where he was serving in the Marine Corps. Stewart walked on ignoring the punk. Duke walking behind Stewart grabbed the flag and punched the kid out.

Yep exactly ... This is what is missing in today's world - a leader , a man someone that puts his foot down makes a decision and sticks to it !

A question for the true John Wayne fans out there, how many of his movies did he die in and what were the movie names?

I believe I know them all but let's see who else does.

There are no prizes and very little recognition for correct answers.

Ok ok I'll tell ya the secret to Duke's cowboy persona, pilgrim.

Well JW was actually a California boy. You know, LA beaches, football and girls. Didn't know a damn thing about "the West ". Turns out though he got a job in high school or college as a gopher at one of the studios in LA. This was in the silent movie days. Any youngins even know what those are? It's like you're watching some Netflix video on your iPhone with the sound turned down....but I digress. So back at the studio young JW is spending a lot of time getting coffee for this old grizzled guy. Spending time with him and getting an earful. Well ... the "old guy" turns out to be none other than Wyatt Earp. Yes ... THAT Wyatt Earp.

And from those conversations young Marion Morrison became John Wayne. The one you see up on the big screen.

The Cowboys. The Shootist.
Sorry guys the drinking started really early last nite.

The last one I can think of is The Sea Chase where JW was the captain of a German merchantman at the beginning of WWII who was kicked out of the German navy for not being a Nazi. He takes on a British Cruiser and his ship is destroyed. You don't see him die but your left to assume it
