A .45 Derringer ??

You know you want it.

With such a short barrel I would wonder what the muzzle velocity would be with the .45 acp.  I once has a .22mag derringer, Big flash and bang, couldnt hit the side of the barn if I was standing in it.  Would just have enough velocity to stick in white pine about 1/4 inch.

had a .45 derringer a while back. Single shot, and accurate and lethal up to at least 25 feet

I would rather have 2 45's over 5 .380's.  But at 12 oz, that has just gotta hurt with eithe the .45 or 9mm.   Interested to see what it cost and how it tests out.  But I am thinking "ouch".

Some company made one of these many years ago and a old timer at Freeport R&R told me he bought one,im goin back a while,anyway he told me that in the instruction manual it stated..."Do not fire pistol withoutout a motorcycle helmet on with a visor".....I swear

In the 300 range it would be reasonable.

Fast enough to kill someone at standard gun fighting distance which is 2-5 yards when you wouldn't use the sights anways. Or plenty fast to kill when it's pressed into your attackers chest. They're not meant to hit a thing with aimed fire. Seecamp made a .32 wirth no sights on it at all.

On the Specialty Pistol message board there was a guy will a short bbl 45-70 Contender. Just enough bbl for the throat. Bullberry makes stuff like that all the time.

I remember a magazine article about a big bore pistol, one of the JDJ's maybe... where the author was making fun and had pics of him wearing a motorcycle helmet while shooting.... Otherwise I think the guy at the range was Shi....ng you.
