7.62x39 optics

I Have been looking into optics for 7.62x39 caliber. I have considered an eotech with magnifier wich is the most likely option for me. After some research I have found some other options such as a trijicon acog ta33r-13 and hi lux Cmr by leatherwood. I am also aware of aimpoints but have never tried one. These options range from a few hundred to over a thousand. Does anyone have any recommendations or opinions on these various options? Thanks.

What rifle is it going on?
What are your plans with the rifle?
I have a primary arms red dot, love it. Keeps it zero, nice and compact, great battery life.
Monitoring this thread as I'm looking for something for my MAK 90 eventually.

I have a dust cover with a rail that I can swap on to it, but I'm not a fan of that method.
Oops should have stated that. I am looking for something versital Wich is why I'm thinking eotech and magnifier. But will shoot anywhere from 10-200 yards. And it will probably go on my ak.

From what I have read the only dust cover picatinny rail that holds zero is made by Texas weapons systems, and it's like $140 so yeah I have the side mount by utg.

I did fine yesterday hitting steel at 200 with iorns, a simple red dot should do fine for anything on the island.
I'm done with iron sights right now. I know they will suffice i can also hit a target at 200 yards with them but I'm looking for a quality high end optic not another red dot but thanks. I have heard nothing but good about the primary arms red dot but I already have 2 red dots and one of them is the same style as pa dot. I prefer something with magnification. thanks guys.

Jake where where you shooting steel at 200 yards? Also I see in your sig that you are looking for ak mags. I recently purchased some from what a country. It stated that they were German but I'm pretty sure they are Chinese they have the rib along the back what's the difference?
What is wrong with a Nikon 3x9. Wont look weirder than an Eotech or a red dot. Focusing on 0-25 yards might be tricky.

If it will hold up to the recoil nothing. I have also heard good things about Nikon. I will look into it thanks.

Tac rifle match.

The chinese have no spine on the back, and yugos hold the bolt back on an empty mag.

K wasn't sure about the mags just thought I would give you a heads up about them. How did you do at the match? Was it here on the island?
I like 2-7x optics for my intermediate calibers, a good magnification range for anything 0 to 300+ yards... Although it seems you maybe far over the price ranges that I deal with.

My Saiga 5.45 is currently situated with a 2-7x Centerpoint. Cheap, but it so far it has been reliable and quite effective.

The match was out east, I ate shit.
1p78, PK-A, etc. anything russian.
I got a votex strikefire and although I had issues with with it from the seller once worked out I will probably just throw that on My rifle. I'm very happy with the quality of it plus it comes with a magnifier so for now gonna go with it instead of something high end. It has a lifetime warranty so if it doesn't hold up to the recoil I will switch it on to the 223 rifle. I don't have $1000 right now for the eotech /aimpoint setup that I want. The Nikon was much bigger than I wanted on it and at closer distance it may have been an issue getting on target. I appreciate everyone's help and feedback. I will give an update on how it works out once I get some rounds down range with it.
I did not go crazy with optics on my saiga (7.62x39)....just a Bushnell Banner 3x9 on a standard AK side mount works fine.

I had a setup like that but i wasn't to thrilled with it. I wanted something that would work for close range also. I ended up putting the scope aside for the mosin if I can ever get the rear leaf sight off.
I originally had a red dot on my Saiga...but with my eyesight not being what it used to be...I swapped it out for a scope as I could not see the point of impact without a spotting scope.  As far as the Mosin goes...I have a really nice scout mount on my 91/30 made by S&K with a Bushnell 2-6x32 pistol scope mounted.  I REALLY like that setup.  I originally had a cheap NC Star pistol scope...in the sighting in session the scope literally fell apart under the recoil.  The whole from bell objective fell out!  The bushnell scope has worked great and has held zero without issue.  I could send you some pics if you are interested in a similar set up.
