Julio Segura-McIntosh's death on March 14 was the third child shooting in Western Washington within three weeks. On Feb. 22, an 8-year-old girl was critically wounded by a gun that went off in a classmate's backpack in a Bremerton school. On March 10, the 7-year-old daughter of a Marysville police officer was killed when her brother found a gun in the family car.
As told by Degun Wentoff.

Everybody knows that a gun doesn't just "go off" unless you're cleaning it.
Sad, but like they say "...you can't fix stupid..."

Very sad!
.......not to sound cold, but OH GREAT! More of what we don't need. My sincere condolences goes out to the rest of this kids family, but these 2 REALLY should have known better.
very sad for the loss of an innocent child.......dropping the clip out of the gun , and clearing the chamber may have taken 10-15 seconds at the most?
Why does an accident with a gun bring out so many irrational calls for policy changes and bigoted, snarky comments? You never hear this when someone gets hurt with other household objects: matches, chainsaws, bicycles, swimming pools, extension cords, candles, ladders, chimneys, nailguns, cigarrete lighters, medicine, space heaters, ect. which all accidently kill/maim thousands every year

..and many more than all gun accidents
Kids will find anything anywher.
Take the magazine out and take t with you - good idea.
Get real holster and carry like you're supposed to- better.
Very sad to see this happen , especially if it can be prevented by being a responsible owner

They do .....
Why do you think there are lables on hairdryers that say " do not use while in the shower or taking a bath "
now how about those thousands of kids in africa dying because they dont have anything to eat
Really, really sad. How can someone be so irresponsible as to leave kids alone in a car, with a gun no less!?

I've been tearing up the comments section on this though, it's amazing that so many people think gun owners just own guns to feel empowered, and that they cry to have us saved from ourselves, "ban the guns, we are too helpless to solve our problems, we need the government to take these things away!" It's so disgusting. At least there are many people also saying forget about the guns, what about the irresponsible parents? My thought is, what difference does it make if the kid got a hold of a gun, bottle of pills, sharp object, length of string, small piece of plastic to choke on, knife, a rock, or put the car in drive? An unsupervised three year old could harm himself with many things, we're going to act like he'd be perfectly fine if there was no gun?
All the people who should not be having kids today are the ones having kids...sadly that kid never had a chance with those parents.

How sad!
It was was an accident. We dont ban cars because they are used in accidents.
this is a more important story than all the pro 2a stories in the world.
I'm glad that at least the adults are being charged. Who leaves an 8 month old and a 3 year old in a car unattended?
What is wrong with these people?
The problem is the whole notion that."It takes a village" to raise a child.
It takes PARENTS. But our Great Society thinks it can legislate parental responsibility.

A 3-year old and an 8-month old no less. Imagine if these children had been kidnapped? It would only have been a matter of time before the headline appeared that the bodies were found in some remote location by a hiker. Unbelievable stupidity. Some people just shouldn't have kids.

Non-gun related but a tragic situation nonetheless, these are the same kind of irresponsible dopes that leave their dogs in the car, windows barely cracked, while they shop for "just a few minutes" as the temp reaches 115 in less than 10 and the pup succumbs. I'm sure we'll hear about this happening once or twice this summer. Idiots.
