Plant Natural landscape Tree Snow Wood

Opening Day was perfect hunting weather. Cold and some snow cover. I harvested a big 6 point buck in the afternoon. Seen many hunters driving back today. Found a butcher in my area who also does European Mounts. It was a big relief since the taxidermy I used closed after using him over 30 years.

Picked up my venison on Saturday, their was a cardboard sign Closed!
I went inside 4 people busy processing venison I was 197 at 8am Sunday morning when he opened. I asked the owner if he was really closed. He said that sign went up that Sunday. People kept coming in, one of the guys in Roscoe died from Covid and he’s picked up that and the place in Callicoon Rod’s is no longer accepting new customers for taxidermy or butchering services.
It seems like the work shortage from the Covid effected this industry.

Nice buck!

I haven't hunted in many years. How much does it run to get a deer butchered?
My cousin paid $175 regular basic deer cutting . I paid $100 which had nice cuts of venison weight of cuts on roasts and chopped meat.
Another friend paid $130 for his deer. He liked the job my butcher did. Less cleaning, no hair or silver skin to remove.
