11-87 Scout Barrel/Optics

I have an 11-87 with the original cantilevered scope mount. It is really an extension bar mounted to a scout rail mid-barrel. I am thinking of breaking down the cantilever and mounting a red dot on the barrel. Any suggestions for an optic for 75 yd deer hunting? I am thinking of a fastfire type open sight.

PUT A LOW POWER SCOPE ON IT ---ADDITIONAL LIGHT EARLY IN THE MORNING AND LATE IN THE EVENING

i would go with a red dot with some magnification
