I heard the Freeport Range recently stopped doing FFL transfers, but don't have any further details. I hope they can resume in the near future.
Can anyone recommend a Nassau County-based FFL that will accept incoming (new) long guns for a reasonable price?
Just wondering what you guys usually do when purchasing a pistol online.
Do you first ask the FFL if they are willing to do the transfer before you make your purchase?
Do you make the purchase first and then notify the FFL that you are having a pistol shipped to them for transfer?
So I haven't ordered ammo online since the new unSAFE crap went into effect. Who is doing ammo transfers in Suffolk? What are they charging?
Usually I'd just use Volko and be done with it, but Nassau is a far ride from Brookhaven.
I really have to Thank Jerry(again!) for an effortless,super-smooth transfer for my Colt O.P. .38 All the paperwork was waiting for me, and he even had an assortment of ammo to get me started in this caliber.
ETA: BTW, lower FFL transfer rates are in effect NOW.
If I move out of NY state and decide not to bring my rifles with me, what can I legally do with them? For example, could I just give them to a family member without having to do any paperwork or background checks, or would I have to sell them to an FFL dealer?
