Just picked it up. By the serial number, it looks like a 1980 originally exported to Pakistan. Pretty good condition overall. Wood stock with a bakelite buffer tube hand guard.

So I just picked up an SKS and I am currently in the process of removing all of the cosmoline. I'm trying to take the bolt apart but for the life of me, I can't get the firing pin retaining pin to budge. I did a Google search and Everyons answer seems to be "hit it really hard". so I've spent...

So SKSs have been harder to get at decent prices, recently Classic had Yugos in VG-execellent cond for 400 or so, etc. I took a chance on a few VG Type 56 Chinese SKSs from J&G Sales (a well established online outlet) and was pleased with the result. The price was about 300 thought it goes up...

Since there seems to be an impending SKS group buy,,, and probably a couple of love fests in the sand pit at Freeport and range night, I started watching videos about them. When Alan first opened up his gun room at LIA, he wasn't selling pistols and you could check out the rifles on the rack...

What are some cool after market compliant stocks? I got a beat up SKS thru a friend so I'll put something different on this one. I have a Chicom and enjoy shooting it so maybe some new duds will help out. Is the floor plate style considered fixed mag?
