I have a circa 1970's Remington 700 in .308 that I'd like to start shooting again. I don't hunt anymore, but that's not to say I wont start again someday.

Do you really need a rimfire scope period?
22lR ok maybe you don't shoot more then 100 yards but let say a 17HMR where you may want to reach out much further why not a centerfire scope on a 17HMR rifle.

Six New Bushnell Scopes for AR Rifles
Bushnell recently announced the addition of six (6) new riflescopes for AR-style rifles. All scopes have variable magnification. The configurations are:
1-4x 24mm (two variations, one with illuminated reticle)
2-7x 32mm (rimfire version)
Just seeing if anyone know a good gunshop or sporting goods place that has a decent selection of both cheap and expensive scopes, I wanna check out what fits the bill for my budget, but also see what a little extra cash gets me optically.
