Hello, I own a Savage model 99CD Series A chambered in 243. win mag. I can't seem to find a magazine online for it, seeing as they are all out of stock. I spoke to a cheaper than dirt representative and they said that a savage axis/edge magazine in 243 win mag. would work for my rifle as well...

Your thoughts on the Savage Scout and other similar scout rifles for hunting?  I need an all around hunting rifle for this upcoming season, most  shots would be taken sub 100 yards.

OK - just took my new Savage Mk II G to Calverton for a break-in session today. Started at 25 yds...shooting 6" groups with open sights...same at 50 yds. Elevation was close enough. Only one problem...the groups are a good 4"-6" to the right of my POA (I was shooting from a bench rest)...

I have a savage axis in .308 Win. I am going to put a boyds stock on it but I was wondering if the 308 version is a long or short action. It looks significatly longer then my short action Remington 700 in .223 Rem. Any help is appreciated. -Dave
