  1. Bolt Action Rifles
Looking to start doing some traveling for moose and elk. I have a 3006. So I don't think a 300 win mag is worth it. So I decided to start looking for a .338 win mag. Does anyone own one? What do you recommend? Savage? Thompson center? Not looking to spend a crazy amount. Thanks

I'll be shooting it out of a Remington 700 ADL Varmint with a Boyd's thumbhole stock and a Nikon P-223 4-12x40. The twist rate is 1 in 12. I plan on shooting it out...

Anyone have any experience comparing the Weatherby Vanguard S2 to the Remmington 700 SPS tactical, both in 308? From what I can find online the main differences are: More after market accessories for the 700. The 700 is American made. The Weatherby is about $150 cheaper. Thanks.
  6. Vendor Spotlight! Great Deals for Members
Just a reminder, .35 rem will probably be in somewhat short supply again this year. We do have two brands in stock right now, but we (and all the other shops) will likely sell out early, so get it now while you can. Remington has a very small rebate on Core-lokt including .35 remington right now...

  11. Semi-Auto Shotguns
Ok I'm finally going to order a barrel for my remington 1100 magnum. A 2 3/4 barrel so I can cycle the lighter loads. Skeet and pheasant and what not. My question is does anyone know the difference between these two barrels. I am looking for a barrel I can screw chokes in and change em out...
  12. Bolt Action Rifles
I have a semi custom Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD with a really nice custom muzzle break on it (as you know its threaded to deploy a suppressor typically). The rifle has a 20 inch heavy barrel with a 1 in 10'' rate of twist for increased bullet stability. I was told due to the 1 in 10''...

So I'm buying a 336c in 35 Remington and I'm starting to look at scopes I'm not really looking to spend more the 300 for the scope. I would like to set it up with a scout scope. I'll be ordering the youth stock as this will be my sons first hunting gun.
  15. Pump Shotguns
I know the 870 is generally considered very reliable and durable. But are there any specific parts that tend to break or wear down/wear out most often that should be kept on hand for quick self-repair? Thanks.
  16. Pump Shotguns
I picked up this Remington 870 xfull turkey choke. I thought it was a flush tube until I looked at it. The ad said this was for an 870 but it looks to me, to be to long and not properly reinforced at the end of the muzzle. All the extended tubes I have seen are reinforced or have knurled ends...

Good Morning L.I.!!! I need advice on shipping a Rem 870 to my nephew who lives in Centereach. He says he wants to take up duck hunting and I'm willing to part with an older 870 I dont use much anymore. With all the Federal Regs, the new SAFE Act, and who knows what else, how do I get this...
