So I'm trying to remove the bolt catch roll pin. I've tried a 3/32 punch that I ground down like the one on brownells but I just bent the punch and cracked it off. I'm trying to drive it to the back towards the stock but it hasn't even budged. Any ideas before I take it to a gunsmith?

Sorry to start a new thread. But this one has got me stumped. I have taken apart every type of long gun, save a Lever gun Question. On my Winchester 94 [1955] Is the firing Pin free floating ? meaning no return spring ? After gentile cleaning mine I found the firing pin can move back and...

So I just picked up an SKS and I am currently in the process of removing all of the cosmoline. I'm trying to take the bolt apart but for the life of me, I can't get the firing pin retaining pin to budge. I did a Google search and Everyons answer seems to be "hit it really hard". so I've spent...

I believe I have the earlier models of the P227 but the sear spring pin fell off during cleaning. I've heard of this on the earlier models. Buying a new one to have installed at South Shore Sportsman since I can't find it. Question, aren't these pressed in and don't usually fall out?

I have been looking for a way to remove the firing pin from my Sig P-226 without running the risk of damaging the slide. Everything I am seeing is telling me I have to use a punch to hammer out the pin that holds the firing pin in place. The way I see it, one slip and i just damaged my slide...

Since I, and a few others have recently purchased Chinese SKS's I have done some research and discovered an issue with the firing pin. There seems to be a rare but real issue of slam fire if the pin is not clean and functioning properly. The issue comes because of the shape of the pin and the...

Was trying to install my stock the other day and get the end plate on. Had a little issue with the rear takedown pin figured I'd give it another shot or if anyone has suggestions. Got in just fine, locked the castle nut down and tested it out. Pin went into the open position but would not for...

I have a Colt H-Bar which I bought new in about 1991. It is a sear block model with the block still installed. I believe its a 'large pin' rifle. Not sure though. Anyone know what pin version the sear block Colts are? I recently purchased a S&W MP15 Sport and it has a smoother trigger than the...
