So, while I was on the campaign trail with David "Bull" Gurfein this Saturday, I found myself a used 1981 Marlin 1894C JM!!! It was in very good condition for a 35 year old rifle and the price was right...well, it was really right after going back Monday (Labor Day) and buying it on sale -20%...

I'm having trouble with my Marlin 336--30/30. Lever gets stuck and jams. It's been sent back to Marlin and apparently they did nothing. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix it or do I have to go to a gunsmith.

Hello Everyone, Wanted to share a Marlin story with you. So, in February of this year, I bought a Marlin 336c from Britt Arms. The rifle and my buy experience were great. Randy at Britt was awesome and the rifle was great too. I was a bit nervous with all the BS I have been hearing about...

While I'm going to try to find interesting and custom guns to photograph for this series, I want to feature guns that look good period, which will include some classics like the Marlin 336. The 336 is the ubiquitous American lever rifle, and has taken more deer in .30-30 Winchester in the North...

So my little brother has a Marlin 60 so I gave him a bunch of 22 ammo for it. There was Remington, federal Winchester 333 and Winchester m22. Everything shoots fine except the m22 black nose. The bullet won't fire and it gets stuck in the barrel and you have to pry it out except the bullet...

While sliding the bolt back after cleaning, it slid all the way in & clicked before I could re-install the lever. Now it won't slide out. The cleaning rod won't budge it. There must be some sort of bolt release but no mention of one in the owners manual.

I can get my hands on a Marlin 1894SS .44 rifle for a great p[rice but I am concerned about its legality here in NY. It holds 10 rounds + 1 chambered and the law says no more than 10 rounds.....is it legal? Fairly new at this and don't want to buy something I cannot use....Thoughts?

I've got a 1948 39-A Marlin 22 handed down from my grandfather/father to me. It's misfiring (leaves small dent in cartridge but not always firing). I suspect it just needs a good tune-up.... or? Anyone know of a LI gunsmith that knows this rifle, can have a look at it?

The charging handle on the .22 marlins always annoyed me. Yes, I know, I can buy a tactical one from diproductsinc.com for $20 plus bucks. I was cleaning out my range bag, picked up a nickel plated .40 shell and said to myself....hmmmmm. A little JB Weld, and we're good to go. BTW, it cycles...

I just picked up my Marlin 336 SS , after reading all the posts on the Internet, gun forms and other sights I didn't know what to do, some people said it was junk , all kind of reports, I made up my mine and went to see one , well it's home now and I did a good going over, I have other rifles &...

My brother just called me from Hawaii and gave me some fishing news he knows I love to hear as I'm a big blue water fisherman. A 1,300+ lb Blue was just caught off of Kona. Here's the kicker, it was caught by a man and his daughter on a 21' Grady! That's almost Old Man and the Sea type fishing...
  14. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
I'm thinking about one or two as companion guns to an XT-22. Their low price compared to a 10/22, various features I wished the 10/22 had, plus it's something new to tinker with. I'd buy one here if the price and condition was right.
  15. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
The trigger on my old marlin 60 was malfunctioning. I broke it down and discovered that the recoil buffer had split. I ordered one from Numrich, but meanwhile, I tried putting it together temporarily with some 6 minute JB weld (I let it set over night) It had a long trigger take up so I added...
  16. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
Hi all, I have a 795 and I fired the first 150 rounds no prob. But very fast the action went down hill. Using the M-22 amo bought in bulk.( recommended by the seller of the rifle) It will load and eject no problems, but will not fire the next round. This happened at first, once in 20...

Always wanted one, found a reasonable example on GunBroker. Refinished the stock, put a Skinner Winged rear sight on it and a used a Marlin 795 Tech Sight for the front sight. I like the military sight picture and the Tommy gun look to it. Just got to get to the range with it.

So I am looking to buy a Marlin model 1895 in .45-70 for my 18th birthday in June. Not sure which model I want yet. I have heard that the quality of the Marlin lever actions is no longer good since they were bought out by the Freedom Group. Has anyone had any experience with the newer models...

Sorry for the newbie post (especially if this is the wrong place for the topic). Any suggestions on where the best place to find a Marlin 60 .22LR. I am in Suffolk county but don't mind traveling. I want my wife to start getting comfortable shooting while we wait for our applications to...

Looking for another 22 in semi-auto, I have heard great things about this Marlin. I do have 2 10/22's, and always liked the tube fed design. Anyway your input would be greatly appreciated. OAL 37 1/2" 14rnd cap
