they were working on my street, shut the gas off on the block..finished what they were doing then came into my house to bleed the gas lines,,,, hit the igniter on the water heater .....and boooom...blew the top off the water heater go figure...new water on the way....thank god noone got...

I just got a generator and without a transfer switch I was told I would back feed the grid. I want to power my heat and hot water. The heater goes to a timer with 3 wires. I'd like to wire a plug to be able to run it to my generator. Anyone have any idea how to do this, or know of an electrician...
