Recoil is a major problem only because of shoulder surgery a few years back.I have shot a O/U 20 Ga. target loads not bad after 25 rounds but the next day the shoulder is a little sore. I wonder will a 28 ga. be a draw back on sporting clays ? I think it should be a little lighter on recoil .

I'm looking to get a total noob started on shotgun shooting and was wondering what this place would be like for such a task. Is there any type of table or foot target launchers available or is it formal trap and skeet only? Is the atmosphere chill or is it like a snooty private club? Thanks.

HOLY CRAP!!! This is by far my new favorite thing. My buddy has been trying to get me to go for the longest time, and today a few friends went out. This is by far the best shotguning action on Long Island. You get to whip around the woods in a decently fast gokart, and shoot the hell out of...

My buddy & I did a round of sporting clays yesterday Suffolk Clays. It was a beautiful day & I shot a touch better than my average. Everything was normal till we got to station 12. I'm shooting first, so I get into the box and call for a bird. Just prior to shooting each target I hear a horn...

I am a Sporting Clays beginner and was wondering how many chokes the more experienced shooters on this forum use in the course of the game. I want to buy a couple of extended chokes that I can easily change without a tool during the game, but at $40+ for each choke, I am not sure what two chokes...

Been meaning to try clay shooting for a while. Andover Sportman's Club, east of Hartford, was having a sporting clays day open to the public so I took a drive this morning. Well, to the surprise of absolutely no one, I'm hooked - more so on trap than sporting clays, but it was only my first...

Beautiful day to break in a new shotgun as well as introduce a new shooter to sporting clays. My wife picked up a Savage 555 20ga O/U and I "borrowed" it this morning. I was really impressed with the fit and finish of this entry-level o/u. The gun felt solid and the trigger is really nice. I...

Lately I have been going to the range and shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays. I really enjoy it and would like to do it more. I have been renting a shotgun but now I want to pick up my own. It will be used obviously for clays but I would also like it to double as a home defense shotgun. I...
