  1. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
Hi everyone, I wanted to share my new Mini-14 build. I had it built by Carl from accuracy Systems out in Colorado. If I can remember correctly I started off with a NY compliant Model 5855 blued Mini-14 with the 5 round mags then added these mods: Real wood American Walnut stock Upgraded hammer...
  2. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
bought my new one about 8 months ago and it shoots about 3.5-4" MOA with iron sights with inexpensive Walmart 150g ammo. My eyes aren't what they used to be so that's not bad considering. I don't plan on scoping it as I prefer it the way I used them while in the Fleet and like them scope free...
  3. AR - [Rifles]
Ok So i finally got off my lazy butt and put together the Accuracy testing video that i previously mentioned in my other thread. The results werent too bad for such a short barrel..I was at 90 yards in a standing position. My scope was previously zeroed in at a 25yard distance so i had to a do a...
  4. Semi-Auto [Handguns]
I was watching a video from Jerry Miculek where he hits a target at 400 meters with a revolver that he holds upside down. He hits twice in about 6-10 shots and uses a red dot. Would this be possible with regular sites? Would this be equivalent to him hitting at 200 meters with regular sites? How...
  5. Bolt Action [Rifles]
hi everyone, i was hoping some experienced bolt action shooters could chime in and let me know what a typical MOA is for a beginner shooter from a benchrest? I'm a somewhat new shooter. I have a Savage 11-VT in .223. Everything on it is stock. I sighted it in at 50 yards and zerod at 100...

PART 2 OF 2: Mini-30 Tactical Range Report - MOA Accuracy 7.62x39 It was clear sunny day with a slight westerly breeze, nothing to be worried about or something I'm not able to compensate for. The Mini-30 Tactical was poised and ready to go on a solid concrete bench. After running a few...

PART 1 OF 2: Mini-30 Tactical Build - The Road To 7.62x39 Accuracy When it comes to the 7.62x39mm bullet, almost everyone shoots with some form of AK variant. A popular bullet that satisfies two needs: 1.) a devastating 30 cal. round that produces a large cavity wound, and 2.) inexpensive...

  9. Reloading
Well wanted to have a little fun and reloaded heavier bullets 147 gr. hp  when I usually  the load 124 gr. fmj-rn.  Well shooting high, wondering if it's the bullet or the guy behind the gun isn't use to a heavier round.  It's probably a little of both....
  10. Open Firearm Discussions
I have read that the thickness of the rim of a .22 will determine it's accuracy. On a blog someone suggested using an empty .243 in lieu of the gauge. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/382448/hornady-rim-thickness-gage-17-22-caliber#ReviewHeader...
  11. Semi-Auto [Handguns]
Again, still a rookie in shooting a pistol. Went to range early yesterday morning and picked up some HD ammo (Federal HST) to run through the HK. First time shooting hollow points and anything other than target ammo through it. Wanted to make sure it fed well, etc before buying to keep at home...

  13. Bolt Action [Rifles]
I am looking to get a new rifle and was curious about the feel of the stock/chassis system on the AI AX series, anyone local have one they wouldn't mind me checking out? I'm clean and don't intend to finger fuq it to all heck, just wanna see the fit..
  14. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
Finally got to take my new benchrest (early Christmas present from my son) to the range to see what kind of accuracy I could squeeze out of my Mini 14 and Marlin 60. Typically the best I could get at 100 yards from a sitting position on the bench was about 5" ~ 6". I got the benchrest set-up...
  15. Revolvers [Handguns]
When it comes to a revolver with 5.5" or 6.5" barrel length, how much will it affect your accuracy? If at all. Whats your views?
  16. Milsurp [Rifles]
This looks to be about a two dollar project that might just be worth trying out. two page article with gobs of photos. But we decided we would try a trick we've had some success with in the past. We decided to place a small piece of cork between the stock and the front of the barrel to put...
  17. Milsurp [Rifles]
I just picked up a RC 1938 K98 Mauser. The rifle is very clean with good rifling, but the bore is dark. I've cleaned the bore out using bronze brushes and hundreds of patches. The patches are coming out clean. The muzzle looks good as well. I shot Yugo surplus ammo that has gotten good reviews...
