  1. Semi-Auto [Handguns]
I bought this byf 44 t block Mauser P38 upstate a couple of weeks ago. Did the SCPD paper work and went up this weekend to pick it up. All original finish, very little wear, matching numbers and magazine, non Russian capture, no import marking. It came with a Luger holster and takedown tool. If...

Well stop by Chesters on the way home this morning to see about the pricing on a 460 S&W X frame. He has a few RUSSIAN M-44S INSTOCK I'M GOING back this week to either buy or put a deposit on one. They looked pretty good but the stocks needing to be refinished but not bad at all 399 and one...
  4. Milsurp [Rifles]
Sometime last year I started this little project. After fitting all the parts together I put it back in safe and that was that. No reason. So I just tried my hand at a camo paint scheme. Nothing special just wanted to see how the paint looks. Also you might remember that the M-44 has the piece...
  5. Semi-Auto [Rifles]
I can get my hands on a Marlin 1894SS .44 rifle for a great p[rice but I am concerned about its legality here in NY. It holds 10 rounds + 1 chambered and the law says no more than 10 rounds.....is it legal? Fairly new at this and don't want to buy something I cannot use....Thoughts?

  7. Revolvers [Handguns]
I finally joined the revolver club.
  8. Reloading
I reload for my 1984 Marlin 44 mag. I try to keep my brass around 1.275 +- .003, but now I have a bunch of Hornady Leverevolution brass. They are between 1.255 - 1.265 which is below the max length for regular 44 mag. brass. If I reload them with XTP's or 240 gr. hard cast lead, the OAL is...
  9. Reloading
I went on hogdons loading data they had 5.5 grains of titegroup on a lead 240 grain bullet. Anyone ever tried it or use a similar load. I have titegroup powder and coated 240 grain cast bullets. Just looking for a very lite recoil plinking target round.

A friend has the above and does shoot. He heard the cylinder can be replaced so it can shoot 44 long. Does anyone have experience with this?
  11. Reloading
Well I just bought my first .44 mag and will start reloading this caliber due to the cost effectiveness, and it's just plain fun. Looking for recommendations on projectiles, was going with a .240 gr. LSWC but worried a little about leading in a new gun. Trying to keep the cost down, was going...

  13. Milsurp [Rifles]
I ran into an opportunity to purchase M-44 in descent enough shape for the price. My delema is the bayonet was removed and the piece was grinded down. Not sure if that remaining section can be removed from barrel or another bayonet can be installed. Would it be cost effective to have done? Not...
  14. Chit-Chat
And watch The Enforcer with it next to me on the couch! Its on Fios channel 233. Not quite as good as Dirty Harry or Magnum Force, but well worth watching for the 100th time!
  15. Revolvers [Handguns]
Just picked this thing up tonight, the finish is not as nice as I hoped, it's more brushed than a smooth, I'm sure some rubbing and flitz will take care of that
  16. NYS and NYC Discussions (licensing/laws)
Hey All, I'm asking this question for a friend. He's had a .44 Desert Eagle for quite sometime today and then since the UN-Safe Act, he's wondering if the gun is still 'legal' to possess. Getting conflicting information. Thank you!

  18. NYS and NYC Discussions (licensing/laws)
Just wondering if one applying for a purchase authorization for a 44 Magnum revolver, will it be a problem in NYC? How about 454 Casull? Thanks.

You can hear the ricochet on the second shot.
  20. Revolvers [Handguns]
My next handgun will be for hunting.... I am looking into the S&W 629 and the Ruger Super Redhawk, both in .44 mag. My uses would include going to Texas for hogs and hunting deer upstate. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone with first hand knowledge of either gun, thanks.
