I striped all the paraphernalia off but still performed miserably. I completed the sporting Clays course without complaining of shoulder pain. But my average hits were definitely not what I expected. I know you must aim but definitely in a more fluid and pulse-quickening fashion than pistol target shooting. That's what makes it so much fun. The semi-auto Benelli M4 is said to absorb a lot of the 12 ga recoil but requires 1 1/8oz loads. Not so with O/U, 1oz loads might be a tradeoff recoil-wise? Well, it's a work in progress. Thanks for all your excellent advice. I think 12ga is the way to go but maybe renting one would be prudent as I like quality and have learned I must pay for that.
