Fun thread.
Here's something I think no one here has since they only made 250 of them.

is that what that is we had one when I was a kidMaybe 35 years ago I was in the country somewhere, could have been PA, and I was in an antique store. There had been a massive flood there at one time and this insulator was from a power pole that had been knocked down. It was made by WhithallTatum Co. No. 1 (size i guess)

Since Jack posted some nice WW II stuff, here is some more.
My Pops ID from WW II. Yes he was "one of those guys".
I love the valid date. He told me some stories but not too many.
Better pic of the shield. From what I hear it's rare to have them both. They were number matching.
Pic of the text.

Yankee class skeeter iceboat. I have been sailing iceboats since I was 10 years old, mostly on Mecox Bay in Southampton, but we travel to ice as well all over the northeast. I have had this boat over 80mph while a Piper Cub was flying alongside me.... eventually I pulled away from the Cub, he couldn't keep up. If anyone is intetested, several classes of iceboats are sailing the Long Island Championship this weekend on Lake Ronkonkoma, I wont be there... my boat is too big for that lake unfortunately.

Great stuff! I love seeing and hearing about our hero dads! Here's one from my father in law - toughest little SOB I've ever known and loved!
