HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
GREG DAWSON COMMISSIONER

We have just confirmed with our vendor that the reservation system will be ready to accept reservations beginning January 15, 2014 at 7:00 pm. As stated in previous message you received, here are the changes you can expect when making your 2014 reservations.
1. Electric Upgrades - Southaven will now offer electric at 51 general campsites as well as in the group camping area. Sites 54104 in the general campground will have 30/50 amp service available. Please note that as with all electric campsites, only trailers, RV's, motor homes or pop-ups are permitted. Tent camping is permitted on non-electric sites only.

2. Extended Camping Season - The camping season at Sears Bellows County Park will be extended through Columbus Day to coincide with the schedule at other County inland campgrounds. In the past, Sears Bellows has only been open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

3. Cathedral Pines Sites Available Through Reservation System - The ten electric sites at Cathedral Pines Campground will now be available through the reservation system. All reservation rules and policies will apply.

4. Reservation System and Campground Policy Changes a. Reservations: Beginning January 2014, reservations can be made from 7 to 120 days in advance. By changing advance reservations to four months out rather than the traditional six months, this gives patrons more time to schedule their vacation plans and it will eliminate issues we have experienced with cancellations during the past two seasons. b. No-Shows: If a reservation is not cancelled and the green key cardholder does not check-in or call the park with an anticipated arrival date by 9:00 pm on their reserved check-in date, the patron will be considered a no-show. Customer will be charged a $45 no-show fee, plus the $12 non-refundable reservation fee as well as the charge for the first night of camping. c. Period of Stay: Camping will be limited to seven nights maximum per stay at all parks. A camper staying four to seven (4-7) nights may not return to same park for a period of seven (7) nights from the time of check-out. A camper staying one to three (1-3) nights, may not return for (2) nights. Campers will be unable to make two seven (7) night back-to-back reservations at the same park. In addition, only one campsite reservation per green key card for the same period of time will be permitted. Additional guests (more than the occupancy limit) will need to make a separate reservation using a separate green key card. Please make sure that your green key card is valid, not expired and does not have any holds prior to that date, as the parks department will not be responsible for any reservations you were unable to book as a result of an invalid green key card.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact our office at (631) 854-4949.

Thank you, Suffolk County Parks Department
