How is this a victory for us ? I would think anything that shows that such a high percentage of gunshot victims were self inflicted and not by some thug would be a good thing.

Those who are serious about committing suicide usually make an attempt, those who do it with a firearm have a higher "success" rate, but if they really want to do it, they will eventually succeed, firearm or no firearm

Because the leftist goons will be using the data to show that we need 14 day waiting periods between purchasing a gun and taking possession, so that there is a cooling off period. Presumably the suicide by gun types purchase the gun in the morning and blow their brains out in the afternoon.

Down in the article I saw this:
That Dec. 3 decision held that the Center for Investigative Reporting is entitled to request weapon ownership records from ATF. The court concluded that the 2012 Tiahrt Rider does not exempt FTS data because it was enacted after OPEN FOIA.
