I hear Volko was around $25 for a long gun. Give them a call.

I did a transfer, if I purchased $100.00 in the store the transfer fee waived. Give them a call. Prices and Store policy are subject to change.

I heard an FFL will charge a sales tax from an out of state online sale.
I would call ahead before using a LGS and check what they charge.

We're still $25 or $50 for something we routinely sell.  The $50 is to discourage showrooming.  Currently the guidance from NYS DTF is that we do NOT have to collect sales tax on transfers.  Keep in mind that just because an FFL does not collect the sales tax, it does not relieve the individual of their obligation to pay "use tax" which is the same thing on items purchased out of state and brought into NY to be used here.  Speak to your accountant.

That is the absolutely correct information. Thank you for posting it.

I routinely transfer through Kwaks. $35 is more than a fair price. Great guys too!
Been buying online for about 20 years.

I emailed Volko last week and was told they aren’t doing any transfers at this time, I found it strange my buddy did one there a couple weeks prior.

Aren't ftf transfers limited by law to $10?   By FTF i'm implying a transfer from one individual to another individual both present in the store, NOT an out of state purchase where one FFL ships it to an FFL to do the transfer.

From https://safeact.ny.gov/

Q: Are dealers required to facilitate a private sale or transfer?

A: No, dealers in New York are not required to facilitate private firearm sales or transfers. However, if they do, they may not charge more than $10 per firearm to complete the sale or transfer. It is up to the private parties to decide who is responsible for paying the dealer.
