It’s reported by DEC biologist that a fawn will stay by itself the first two weeks before they start to walk with the mom. Mid May to Mid June are when most fawn are born. It’s a good sign to see two fawns together with the mom. When you see only one fawn, it can be attributed to a bad winter or a predator.

Is this upstate? Looks like heaven up there. Luckily I was able to get out of the city a long time ago and into LI, but I'm wondering if I should be planning another location change...at least we haven't seen a crime spike or statues behind torn down or riots on the island so far.

It’s upstate, Sullivan County. Plenty of NYC and Long Island residents renting or using there weekend summer place now.

Fawn crossing the creek today. I keep the trails clear, helps during the hunting season setting up a stand.
