Quick question, since ranges locally are closed, Is a Nassau County Permit holder allowed to travel to an out of state shooting range, let's say Connecticut, to go target shooting.

Thanks

I don't think so, unless you have a CT Pistol permit - and they do issue Non-resident full carry permits

You'll have to go to a free state and then no one will care where you're from and you won't need permission from NYS to blast away.

My understanding is that in most states, you can legally possess a pistol (unloaded and locked in a car trunk) as they do not require a permit/license to simply possess. Carrying it loaded is another story and would be safe to assume is not allowed in most nearby states except VT and maybe NH. I have heard and read that you can even transport handguns unloaded to a shooting range located in NJ under certain circumstances. I am not sure about CT, but seem to recall it being a permit required to carry but not own state. I would check on the NRA/ILA state law website first to confirm.

Thanks for the resource. Great info.

After a quick look, it seems like Vermont is the only connecting state that recognizes a NYS issued permit.

Also you can go to Calverton.  It's been open for at least a month.
