Years ago there were certain counties and judges we would want to go to to apply for a non-resident pistol permit. Any updates on places to go close to the Poconos in Monroe County? Appreciate any intel. Steve

Centre County is the only one I know of for sure. Just got my third 5 yr. license there in November. Long ride, but in & out in 20 min.

If you have a full carry you can go to Scranton.

FYI Butler county, the county north of Pittsburgh on the eastern end is also doing it. Yes it's a loooong drive. I grew up there though and have family there so for me it's no problem since I go there every so often.

Lackawanna County keeps changing it’s policy. From giving to non residents to not like Pike and Wayne County.

5 hours to Centre. 20 minutes for license. Stop in town for a bite. Hit a few gun stores. 5 hours home. Fun day trip.

Yes but it's only a 3 hour plane ride. I'll be going there end of May beginning of June.

Based on this page, Carbon County issues non-resident, and is pretty close to where I will be in Poconos.

Many counties that do issue a non resident pistol license must have no restrictions from their home state. A Sportsman, Premises or Business restriction will not qualify. Only Centre County will issue a Non Resident with restrictions.

Have renewed 3 times in Centre County. No issues under Sheriff Denny Nau, and No issues under current Sheriff.
Take the ride there. You will be happy you did.

Centre County was always very pro 2A. It all depends on the elected Sheriff. This is why so many counties are very restrictive with giving a non resident Pennsylvania LTC.

Im seeing that PA recognizes the NH. The non-resident right now in NH is mail in, $100 no class requirement, they made it very sreamline since COVID, can anyone confirm this? I dont always believe something because i read it 😉

BTW, do you have a full carry without restrictions (not limited to hunting/target shooting) or does the license have the restrictions? My understanding is most counties in PA will NOT issue a PA license to you if you have restrictions on your NY license, Centre County being the exception.
