Sorry to hear about the Assault and attempted Robbery that happened. Unfortunately pepper spray doesn't have an immediate effect, once it starts to kick in, it becomes very uncomfortable and will irritate everyone around that was exposed.Brother in law got jumped today by a bunch of derelicts, attempted robbery. Was able to get away but got punched in the face and his glasses broke. I would like to get him a pepper spray just as some type of means of protection, considering he lives in NYC.

Kimber makes a two shot blaster. Not sure if it's legal in NY.

Can’t get it shipped. Apparently the issue is shipping. Can get something under an ounce locally.Sorry to hear about the Assault and attempted Robbery that happened. The shop upstate by me is a Kimber Master Dealer and sells them. A customer in the store was talking about how effective the spray was when he had a guy with his dog confront him. It was around $30 if I recall. Can’t get it shipped. Apparently the issue is shipping. Can get something under an ounce locally.

ssssh, I am such an anal accountant. I found the purchase in my accounting software by searching for kimber. "onlinestores.com" was where the charge came from but the vender was Safety Girl.

Get two of whatever you're going to get and have him spend some time actually deploying it so he knows what to expect if he should ever have to use it.

Many attacks are avoided by simply walking away. The OC isn't a guarantee to stop an attack. It's definitely going require a little training to develop a skill to use it.Get two of whatever you're going to get and have him spend some time actually deploying it so he knows what to expect if he should ever have to use it.
If you do use OC, learn to run quick.

that was the plan, but now he doesn’t want to carry it. You can lead a camel to water...Get two of whatever you're going to get and have him spend some time actually deploying it so he knows what to expect if he should ever have to use it.

Good if you can support a local vendor. Otherwise, are you guys allowed to buy it on the internet? It's easy to find. Worst case, come over here to NJ and purchase some.
One important tip I have learned about OC (pepper) spray: Never wave it around, and say "Get back, I have pepper spray!" The perp can easily turn his head and assault you.
Best to be prepared to hit him (and it's always a "him") with a quick burst, and get the hell out of there.
I give out pepper spray like people give out chewing gum.
I've given it to all the women in our family, although it's not a bad idea for us guys to carry it as well.
