This guy has to live every day knowing he couldn't save a life because he made the mistake of running the wrong direction. Cops make mistakes, I was responding to a gun call and the other officer was going lights in the wrong direction. It was hard for her to use the excuse she didn't hear the correct information over the radio since she repeated the location to dispatch and for other units to hear it. She was the closest unit to the location. I had to get on the radio and advise her of the incident location over the air.
After the call was finished one of the other cops asked me what happened. Police Departments take those calls very seriously. She was forced to retire as the department had enough to fire her.

Lets be precise with the language. A mistake is getting a license plate wrong on a ticket. Mistake ? Here is the definition...

1. to blunder in the choice of mistook her way in the dark

This coward POS has the blood of dead children on his hands because of conscious decisions of his that day. In the military at least they had the concept of HONOR. If your decisions caused wrongful deaths of your troops (no less 17 kids) an officer would put a bullet in their head. If this coward POS had any honor he would do the same.

What about the Sheriff, his deputies didn't follow up with calls to service regarding that POS. Was that a mistake?

My post was calling attn to that word...mistake. Nothing I read was a mistake. These were DECISIONS ppl made and they need to be held accountable.
I hope you dont think I am letting anyone off the hook. I was specifically addressing Peterson. Best as I can understand the situation, that whole damn department from the Sheriff on down are guilty of cowardice, stupidity and negligence, and get zero respect from me. They all have blood on their hands. Can anyone understand how ppl can stand outside a facility HEARING GUNSHOTS AND KNOWING EACH SHOT IS TAKING THE LIFE OF A CHILD...and DOING NOTHING ? Worse yet....there seems to be no consequences for their actions. None. It is like Feb 14 was just another day on the job. Next day they all show up, grab breakfast, a coffee and drive around for 8 hrs. Un...freaking...believable.

That's how patrol works, the department runs because of patrol. The cops answer calls to service, make arrests and cut tickets.

Hopefully someone will remind him every day so he cannot forget.
