Snoozeday is stating that the range use fee increases by fifty cents to two dollars.  I thus believe that Snoozeday is implying (as usual, its not clear in that rag) that veterans and seniors will now pay $4. and younger people and those who never served will pay two dollars more, whatever that makes it.   DodgeRam will hopefully confirm but compared to other fee increases to try and salvage this corrupt county, we are really getting off easy.

The new Dem County Executive is raising a lot of fees. Why am I not surprised?

Someone has to pay for the paint & lumber - LOL

With our Women on Target classes - I get to shoot a little for free --- I'd never go there on my own -- yuck --

Yah, you can always go to DSI where it doesn't take as long to reel the target in and out.

I don't mind a $2 increase as much, however my ridiculously high property taxes should cover my use fee. Really, what's the point of a 50 cent increase for Veterans and Seniors? How much can that possibly amount to in total revenue for the year? Maybe they'll get one more tank of gas in the county helicopter?

Hopefully the don't try to make access less accessible / less open hours.

Was there this morning. Paid $3.50 senior. When are these fees supposed to increase?

Still in discussion

Still $30.

I live in Lindenhurst which is pretty much midway between Mitchel Field and DSI. So for me, $24.00 at MF compared to $30 at DSI is a no brainer.

I'm a member at DSI and if you shoot regularly, like I do, it really is a bargain. Shooting 30 times a year at DSI reduces the range fee to $10 a visit.

are its hours going to be a little less restrictive ?

what's currently posted isn't so hot, although as a senior non-resident it might make me eschew Calverton.

What is the maximum distance at the Islip town range ?

Islip Town range'

Dec-May: Sat 10am - 4pm

June-July: Wed 4:30pm - 6:30pm; Fri 10am - 3pm; Sat 10am - 2pm

August: Fri 10am - 3pm; Sat 10am - 2pm

Sept-Nov: Sat 10am - 4pm and Sun 12pm - 4pm

(and no, I am personally not the least bit interested in that indoor range (LISC?)

Yup, of course for three fifty I am pretty spoiled all these years regarding indoors,  but the only decent hours and open days for the Islip Town Range are June and July when I hardly even look at, let alone fire, anything.  50 yards is OK I guess, but I would rather put another 70 miles on the truck and go to Calverton.  Only a few bucks more to Harry for all day.

I thought the fee increases were only proposed at this time and not yet approved?  Went to Mitchell Field today and it's now $12/ hr a $2 increase.

Lol...a couple of months back, I was putting up a target and didn’t realize the clip had a razors edge on it. Put a good size slash on my shooting finger. Luckily had a towel with me, but bled all over my pistols that night
