The only holder I could find that fits the big NYS license is the Scaffs #4 (5-1/8" x 3-7/8")

Are there any others available locally? The Scaffs is $3.50 with $8 S&H, which is ridiculous for what it is.

Try any Walmart or Local Gun Shop. They have license tag holders that fit.

I switch from a vest to a heavy coat and have the need for another one on my backpack so I made a couple of my own from that heavy clear vinyl stuff that so many purchases come in.   BIG safety pins and voila.   Both have lasted three or more years so far.  ( Yes, I am a piker. )   The first year I went to town hall and got a free backtag, (duplicate licenses cost, not backtags if they get "lost") but now I just scan the original and color print out two more.
