about two weeks ago the officer who is handling my application called me with a quick question. I missed the call and the officer left their number. I called back immediately and answered the question and was told my application is approved and it will be out on the supervisors desk for final signature. I was also told that in two weeks i would be receiving an email. Its been two weeks and 3 days. Do i call the officer since i have the direct line and ask if all is ok? or just wait. i forgot what email i placed in application and have been checking my emails and junks!!! wait or call now lol

i received my license approval email today at 5:36 on a Tuesday. 3 weeks after my fingerprinting. No references were called. Maybe due to Covid backlogs they're speeding things up? Gonna go pick up my license Thursday morning.

Nah. They didn't call my references either. I think they call when red flags go off.

Serious? That’s a huge increase from what I’ve seen people reporting here. Although, given COVID and riots, maybe everyone is applying.

I’ve never seen a large movement of dates from what people recently reported here.

25+ something years ago, they were claiming 6 months, but my father’s was processed in 4. 20 years ago, they held me up for 7 months. More recently (through 2019) I’ve heard turnarounds in as little as 2 months. But with the reasons you’ve stated, I’m not at all surprised by a big increase in backlog of late.

About six months from dropping off my paperwork and Covid rescheduling delay.

Picked my license up bright and early on Monday morning.  Second one in, first one out.  Eight minutes tops.  Thought I checked it over for accuracy, but when I got home I noticed the height field was off.

I would have taken the obligatory ride to my LGS for a new purchase to celebrate, but I actually had surgery scheduled at noon.  Poor planning, right?

Slept late, made the trip on Tuesday, bought my pistol, then back to NCPD.  Got there about 4:30pm and there were 17 people in front of me.  About 1.5. hours in and out.  They corrected the height before adding the pistol.

Alas, it was too late for pickup, so I did so yesterday.  Now I gotta heal, get some more 9mm and range time.

All and all, I think the process was AOK.  As I said, without the Covid closure, maybe four months from start to finish.

Regards to all  -----------------
