Just a quick note - shortly after I repaired the old TD, dad passed unexpectedly in Feb '18. He knew I had repaired the old lady and was pleased, but never got to pull the trigger himself.

After he passed, I lost interest and put the old lady away. Deciding I'd had entirely enough of the silliness of 2020, I pulled her out on Saturday, my son and I gave her a good cleaning, and we headed to the range in Calverton on Sunday.  At very nearly 140 years old, the old lady performed flawlessly. I did not perform nearly as well, having not pulled a trigger in MANY years, but I did eventually hit the target at 200 yds and my son shot for the first time.

The bug has bitten and I'll be looking for a vintage .22 to go along with the old lady. I don't want to cause undue stress on such an old rifle.

Dad broke the firing pin in 1947, so the gun's been silent for nearly 75 years - until yesterday. Here's a vey brief video of the first shot. I was just a bit nervous.
