When Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops joined forces, it put a lot of financial pressure on Gander, which was stretched, thinly, because of all of their expansion, over the last several years.

Gander Mountain was always overpriced, one of the gun shops upstate was using Gander Mountain to set his prices on Firearms.

I was at the store in Kingston yesterday and was impressed by the number and selection of pistols....Don't know if they were overpriced or not. My friend who lives up there bought a Remington 20 GA. shotgun for $359. with a $60 dollar rebate Remington which I thought was a good deal. He was going back and forth  between that and a Mossberg 500...for the same price with no rebate.
