The last gun I'm buying for at least 5 years.

If anyone knows about these rifles and can figure out what year the model was made, that'd be great

The "scant" stock is a replacement.
It if is a Springfield and a low number you should not shoot it.
If it is a Remington shoot away.
Not enough info given to say much else.

Looking at the rear sight base, it could be a Remington

I got one a few months ago. Made in 1920 but re-barreled in 1945. Bought a cleaning kit that fits in the butt stock for it. Now I'm looking for a WW I era long bayonet & sling.

I got mine from AIM Surplus. It's a re-armored Springfield circa 1943. Mine also has the scant replacement stock. I got it in 2013. Some of the ones they've had since have had the C stock which I would have preferred. But it's a great shooter.

Good luck.

See if your serial no. is here:

Correction - mine's a Remington.

The barrel should have a year on it, up near the front site.

Rather than guess. Could you post serial number range.... barrel date and any other marks you might find on the rifle and stock. Are there any arsenal stamps from rebuilding? Does the stock have any cartouches? Are there any stamps on the bolt? How about a little help here.
