I was camping this weekend and the ranger I was talking to mention Hickok brook as a place to camp but also has a pit to go shooting. He said people bring all sorts of targets to shoot at. Not paper targets. He said it does get pretty busy though. Has anyone ever been here? I believe only 2 hours from LI. Depending where you live.
I tried calling the NYS DEC at 1-845-256-3000x0 for further information but was sent to voicemail.
Does anyone have a detailed map of this property?

This is a good trail map but doesn't say where the camping spots are or where you can shoot.

It's a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive.
There is a shooting range, and you technically can shoot anywhere on the property.
The range looks nowhere near 100 yards though. It's pretty short and tight.
What else do you want to know?

Hunted up the road, and on the property for a bunch of years now.

Can you pinpoint on this map where the range is and where the camping spots are?

I've only been there in the fall and winter on the property to hunt, so no camping going on when I've been there.
It looks to me, that the area around the lake/pond from the south end around clockwise to the northwest side, kinda 6 o'clock to about 10-11 o'clock is set up for camping. Not camper camping mind you, tent camping. Didn't look to me that the area was set up for campers.
I've been all over that property and it is HEAVILY wooded.
Couldn't see anywhere else it could be.
Also, the road in and out is not big enough for more than a pickup, and if two vehicles have to pass, you are virtually mirror to mirror.

Hickok Brook
This is a FREE campsite.
Barryville, New York
GPS: 41.501073, -74.876568
Directions
Hickok Brook is open May 1st through Sep 30th. There are 1 night campsites at this location.
You may stay 1 at Hickok Brook.
One review:
This is about 10 minutes from Barryville, NY on a paved road up in a sparsely populated residential area.
The park itself is nice and rarely used. I do see a horse trailor there once in a while, thats about it.
This is in the Upper Delaware River Valley area, a popular spot for camping, rafting, canoeing the Delaware
river and so on. New York City dwellers visit here on summer weekends, so if they find out about this FREE spot,
it may become more visited, as who doesn’t like free? Even for one night? Large parking area in front with dirt
road heading back into campsites. RV’s could boondock in parking area easily.

Sorry, forgot about range.
If you look on the map that you posted, blow up and look on road heading south from lake.
There is a vehicle on the map with an open spot narrow running north south on the east side of the road.
That is the range.
Northernmost point is where you shoot from to the south being the target area.
