My job and my wife got the phone call yesterday both within 5 minutes. My investigating officer told my wife the license will be in the mail within a week.

What I don't' understand, but I'm sure i will of course is, if the license, my dad has a full carry with his 9 pieces on his so I've seen them, is plastic and like an ID card, it arrives and obviously has no pistols listed on it. So I go and do my thing with the voucher, get one purchased and such. What do they do? Issue a new card right at Yapank that day?

The wait was worth it, now comes the spending.......

What a drag. Last Thursday morning I show up at 9 am and have my buddy on the way to meet me at Mitchell and a sign says "Range closed to Public until 1pm". Today I get out of the Operating Room at 9:30 am excited to break in a new pistol. I call them and ask if they are open and again it is closed to the public until 1pm.

I think I need to find a pistol club because the only other "free time" I get is after my kiddies are asleep.

I understand that our county's LEO need to train but suddenly the public shooting range isn't so public anymore.

Sorry guys....just needed to vent a little.

I have heard that it is illegal to touch a hand gun in Suffolk Country without a pistol license. I have been required to put my pistol license on the counter when handling one. Is this a New York State law? Or maybe a Suffolk County law?

I am curious as to what the actual law is, and where this is the law.
