(Babylon, NY…December 6, 2013) The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is
pleased to announce that the following permits will be on sale for the upcoming 2014 season beginning on
January 1, 2014.

SPORT FISHING
Requirements:
Fee: $30.00, $55-Out of State; Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Required
Permit is only valid for fishing after sunset from April 1-December 31, 2014, except where noted
Valid for:
Captree - Main field & Overlook
Jones Beach - Fields 6, 10, West End 2, West End Boat Basin, West End Work Docks & Green Island
Hither Hills - Except Memorial Day to Labor Day
Montauk Point - Lower Parking Lot ONLY
Robert Moses - Field 2, *Field 3 & 4 - Mid-September to December 31, 2014 ONLY
Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow - Field 1 & Field 3
Wildwood

Requirements:
Fee: $65.00, $110-Out of State; Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Required
Permit is ONLY valid for fishing at:
▪ Hither Hills (Year round)
▪ Montauk Point (Year round)
▪ Napeague (Year round)
▪ Robert Moses (Democrat Point, Sore Thumb and Gilgo), April 1 - December 31, hours vary

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE BEACH VEHICLE SURFING PERMIT
Requirements:
Fee: $65.00, $110.00 Out of State; Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Required
Permit is only valid for surfing at:
▪ Robert Moses Democrat Point April 1-December 31, 2014, hours vary
▪ Robert Moses Field 2, 3, and 4 from September 15-December 31, 2014

CAMP HERO FISHING PERMIT
Requirements:
Fee: $40.00, $75-Out of State; Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Required
Permit is only valid for fishing after sunset at Camp Hero State Park, April 1 - December 31, 2014.

Permit allows holder to drive to and from the fishing area ONLY.
Permit may be modified to hours and days specified by the Park Manager.

stargazing ONLY. Permittee must remain in Parking Field near his/her vehicle.

Jones Beach - East End of Field 10 ONLY
Orient Beach
Robert Moses - *Democrat Point (four-wheel drive needed to access this area)

Permit is valid from April 1 - December 31, 2014, hours vary.

Permits are $40.00 and can be purchased at Babylon Headquarters - Permit Office. Permit is valid from January 1,
2014 – December 31, 2014. A permit can also be obtained by sending a letter of request including name, address
and phone number along with payment, and a business size self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Before I moved to Florida I Boycotted all NYS permits Just to keep my money out of Cuomo's filthy coffers. I recommend Ya'll do the same. Just my humble opinion.

Yes...Was discussing it among the LIBBA members... My wife surfs (well, tries to) I may get it this year.

it's not a fishing permit it's a permit to park at night for fishing only. Must have rod and reel with you or you will get a ticket.

Metal-detector permit? Surfing Permit? when are they going to introduce a tanning permit, swimming permit, etc. for everything else people normally DO on a beach/in a park - bad enough having to PAY to get into the parks. (or buy the park permit...)

Anything to squeeze another nickel out of us.

Of course they "are pleased to announce" it. More money for them, less for us.

Hold the line on taxes, increase/create fees. Way to go Andrew!

Yes. NYS spends quite a bit of money generating artificial surf for surfers. Someone's gotta pay for it.

I know the surfers have been fighting for the ability to drive their trucks out onto the beach and surf...
