Hello
The other day my wife dropped her phone (Samsung Galaxy s3) and the glass broke.  She has been told it will cost between $150 and $200 to replace the glass or get a refurbished phone from Sprint.

Does anyone know of a place on Long Island that can replace the glass for less?  Please let me know.  Thanks!!!

BTW I have watched the videos on YouTube and I don't think I have the skill to do it myself.

There's a booth in Massapequa mall that does screen replacement. I never used them so I can't speak to how well they do it.
I would consider a refurbished phone, if only to know that it was done properly.

I think there's a place in Smithaven Mall that does it....it's right outside the Apple Store, I think.

I have smashed my S3 screen twice already. First you have to determine what exactly is broken, there are two screens there: one is a protective layer and the second is the "digitizer". The 150 part is the digitizer, the protective layer costs 15 on Amazon.

Tell us which part is broken, if it's only the protective layer I can help you with it.

I always repair my own screens, not that hard to do.

They will also sell you all the part and tools you need to do the job.

The phone still works fine.  So I assume the digitizer is ok. right?

You can do it yourself....If I can replace an iPhone 4 screen with extensive disassembly and a ton of screws and cables, you can replace the Samsung Galaxy S3 glass with a few tools and some heat.

I would try to do it myself.  But if I screw up then I've ruined a $600 phone.

You can try Call Phone CPR on Montauk Hwy in Amityville. Next to 5 Guys Burgers. I had them repair the earpiece on my iPhone 4.   1.631.586.9584.
My mind is like a steel trap ... Rusty and Illegal in 34 states.

We have enough gun control. What we need is idiot control.
