Folks:
We've fixed the date, for this year, as Saturday, April 22nd, at Old Bethpage R&P Club, the facility we always use.
If you've signed on, to work that day, please arrive by 10am, if you're part of the range crew and by 8:30am, if you're part of any other crew. If you're not signed on to work but would like to help out, please PM me.
If you know of any youngsters, boys or girls, ages 12~17, at the time of the event, who might be interested, please let them know of the event.
The classroom portion will start at 9am, then run until approximately noon, when we will provide the students and staff with a complimentary lunch of pizza and soft drinks. There will also be coffee, sof drinks and donuts, for the staff, if they would like breakfast.
After lunch, the students will be brought down to the range, in groups, to work with experienced instructors, on-on-one, firing bolt-action, .22 caliber rifles.
If any of the participating youngsters are, also, Boy Scouts, this event will qualify them for the BSA Rifle Merit Badge.
There is no cost, to the participants. All costs have been absorbed by SASI. All rifles, ammo, protective eye wear and hearing protection will be provided, by SASI, NYSDEC and Old Bethpage R&P Club. For those who may not be aware of the location, it's 70 Kean Street, in West Babylon.
Anyone interested will need to complete the attached Parental Permission and Hold Harmless Agreement, then mail it, to the address indicated thereon. The paperwork must be in, before any student can be registered and we're limited to 39 students. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
