Went there to buy some baseball glove oil for my boots.

Checked out the guns, etc.

Just wanted to say the fellow they have working behind the counter is a good guy.

Very friendly and helpful.

His name is Drew.

He impressed me.

Clean shaven, stocky, 25-30, blondish hair, blue eyes.

Another guy with a dark beard came by at the end to finalize the sale. He seemed ok.

I watched Drew as he helped me with my purchase and told him it was nice to see a salesman treating the customers with respect and without a rude attitude that seems common in stores that sell firearms.

I told him I plan on telling his boss my experience with him.

Without naming the lemons I will say Campsite and Hunters Essentials are 2 of the better places I've shopped in.

To me it's important the salespeople make you feel welcome in their store and are willing to answer questions and make suggestions without getting annoyed or bored.

Yeah, except for the manager that is at the door sometimes, and as soon as you enter he says, "can I help you with anything".
That crap pisses me off.

Suffolk sportsman and karps hardware are good places for knowledgeable help with very pleasant people. I have also had good service from Chesters in Ronkonkoma and Campsite in Huntington.
