Hello all,
I was walking to work this morning, while crossing over Parsonage Creek ( Between Baldwin & Oceanside), I saw a lot of whitish flashes beneath the surface . Size wise, they were maybe a foot long , maybe 5 inches wide ?
Anyone guess what I saw ?
TIA,
DanG

You mean coney island whitefish......they typically show up mostly closer to NY harbor and of course, the local park and ride!

In my party boat days as a regular on a certain LI Sound boat we knew them from the Bronx. ;)

Most likely Tube Steaks shooting out of a pipe sent from the sewers of Albany dumping on us as they just keep craping on us over and over again . The people of NYS seem to love it so why not....

I've been seeing lots of osprey on the light poles on the Meadowbrook near Merrick Rd, ripping into fish. I see them working the back canals so I figured the small bunker were already in.

Bunker are spawning. A friend caught 110 with one throw of the cast net two nights ago.

If you don't watch them, they are really smart.
