Anyone who's interested, Jupiter is making it's way across the sky. currently East-South East at about 40-45• above the horizon.

With a modest telescope, in a dark location, you can see the "spot" on Jupiter. It's breathtaking and a little disturbing all at the same time.

Had an opportunity to view it through a telescope tonight. Was able to make out the moons and also the belts in pretty decent detail. With the new moon coming up and the proximity of Jupiter you should be able to see it quite clearly. To the naked-eye it will look like a bright star, virtually due-east. Very cool stuff!

It's hard to miss as it's the brightest thing in the sky.
