What store was it? If you tell us the store people will share their experiences and we can determine if it is the norm or a crazy experience.

I've had the same question presented to me while shopping for a 1911, because some models have different features better for target shooting, competition, etc. Maybe the salesman was trying to narrow down your choices for you. Maybe the salesman is rough around the edges (everyone is different). Wasn't there, can't say. As others have stated.. let it go. If you feel that strongly about it, spend your money elsewhere.

I've always had a good experience at the South Shore Sportsman and have sent people to them with them all being very happy with the service and help. I have also recommended people to another two Forum sponsors and heard that it was a terrible experience.
I always give a place a second try, people sometimes have a bad day.

There you go the classic word in a "sarcasm" way. I too can be offended and don't forget the rolling of the eyes from head to toe assessment lol. Spill the beans my friend, where is this store? Btw, lgs stores in long island are growing they better clean their act and show respect to buyers regardless.......they must not forget we're their bread and butter.

There, now don't you feel better?

I have shopped at Collesium a few times, it's kind of far from where I live. Always good experiences. Friendly and helpful folks working with the customers, very solid inventory, good pricing.
I'm leaning towards a miscommunication, seems like a fair question to me. Were you wearing a ski mask and gloves when he asked the question? Otherwise, thank the guy for trying to narrow options for you...lots of guns to be looked at, he may have saved you time and money trying to nail down your specific needs or intent.

Oh, welcome to LIF

I had the same question asked as well. Actually multiple times when I was looking for a 1911. I was asked target/comp or self defense. I can understand why and there was no sarcasm from any store employee.
