Simply put one in three Americans suffer from cancer or have a family member suffer.  One in three. Think about that.  Suddenly protests, walking around, lawsuits and everything else takes a back seat to the salvation provided by these Angels of Life.

found this posted:

"There are ways to tell if they are preban. Research is required although sometimes the info you get isn't 100%, but more or less speculation.

All east german AK mags are pre-ban. East Germany went belly up before 1994.

Polish mags are largely pre-ban. The Radom factory didn't make AK's after 1992 until they ran a small batch through 1997-2000. It's unknown if they made magazines at that time or not.

Chinese magazines are usually preban as importation of chinese militaria stopped before 1994. However, their magazines likely slip in as other mags.

Romanian magazines are impossible to tell if they are pre-ban or not. Many of them were imported/made before and after the AWB.

Russian magazines:
-flat "slab side" magazines are preban as they were made in the 1950's
-aluminum "waffle" pattern magazines are preban as they were only made in the 1960's as experimental magazines
-ribbed magazines are preban as they stopped production in the 70's/80's in favor of polymer and bakelite magazines
-bakelite magazines are preban as they stopped production in the 80's in favor of polymer magazines
-some plum polymer magazines are preban. Impossible to tell if they are.
-black polymer are not preban. But they are so impossible to obtain you won't have to worry about this

Bulgarian magazines are impossible to tell if they are preban as many were imported/made before and after the ban. Some people will argue that their "waffe" magazines are no pre-ban, but I have never seen any proof to this.

Hungarian magazines are just like bulgarian and romanian mags- impossible to tell.

All yugoslav mags are more than likely preban. Their arsenal largely hasn't functioned since the early 1990's.

The general rule of thumb is that most AK mags, if they are military surplus, are more than likely pre-ban as they were largely made during the cold war. Not many, if any, were made after the cold war. Bulgaria is the only arsenals that still largely manufacture AK mags to this day."

i'd expound on his comment about the chinese ones coming in after the ban are mainly "chugos" , composites of chinese and yugoslavian mags.  usually a chinese body and the balance being yugo.

for definite no-question pre-bans in AK mags, with level of availability in mind as well, stick to  chicom smoothbacks and bakelites.

Hey Robfather maybe you can help clarify this with your extensive AK expertise.
Are the AK-74 plum Izhmash mags pre-ban or does any preban variation exist of these? Man, would they look good on my SGL31.

http://whatacountry....azine-plum.aspx

Thanks in advance!

ok reading up on the plum colored polymers in a few books and materials on have on the ak...

some made in the 80's.  also made for the 47.  good quality...i see in one article by edward mclean here that the soviet union is still making these mags to some degree.

one of our smarter kalashnikov team members will be along to give the definitive opinion but based upon the little bit that i know i'd steer clear.  east german and bakelite.  i know i feel safe with them.

FYI, in the current issue of Shotgun News (the glossy one, you know, that comes out 1/4-erly, as opposed to the newspaper-ish one that comes out every two weeks) Fortier does a "destruction/torture" test on all kinds of different AK magazines. it was really interesting to see which ones came out on top.

Hint: it was not the TAPCO-like ones. (giggle, giggle).

I can mail you mine, but I would want it back. (it might be at the Borders/Barnes & Noble near the Smithaven Mall. I have a subscription. I think you would like it).

well, I'll summarize what I can remember as best as I can. these are the "tests" he did (in no particular order); he froze them, he heated them to 150F, he ran over them with an Army 2 2/12 ton truck, he dropped them from 8.5 feet, and he dropped a 50-pound ammo can on them, and bashed them from behind with a rubber mallet (while they were inserted in an AK).

heh heh (love to see that done to some AR mags. HA! (suppresses uncontrollable laughter).

some failed multiple tests. almost all (all?) the plastic ones failed the hammer-from-behind test (the locking tabs all broke off). same for the 50-pound ammo can drop, the base plates popped off the bottom of the plastic ones, and most were broken, unable to be re-installed.

the com-bloc steel ones passed everything but one test; the feed lips bent on the 8.5 foot drop, and the body buldged a bit so as to make it unable to re-insert the mag in the magwell.

the East German bakelite ones (in 7.62 as well as 5.45), and the Bulgarian Circle 10 (waffle) mags  passed EVERY test.

all the AK mags passed the frozen/extreme heat tests.

some failed 1/2 the tests, etc. it's a pretty decent level of detail in the article, I'm not really doing it justice here. well, there ya have it!!

(PS. I'd love a Com Bloc sub-section. AK/SKS/Mosin Nagant. yeah baby!).

This should be a sticky'd link.
There are no illegal guns - just undocumented guns.
It's not about gun control .......it's about total control. We are not subjects - we are citizens!  >:(
Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
