Not to belittle the Bethpage club , but you should know I left the club because there is also an assesment added to the annual dues of if I remember correctly $50.00 if you don't help in the clean up and you have to be asked to join the crew-so dues are/were $250.00 a year in reality. Is a nice club range though.
Actually, it's the other way around. We deduct $50, from your dues, if you participate in the work party, after the 1st year. Gary
Have any of you heard anything about http://www.pistolpermits.com/ they say they have a range that is 24/7 in levittown. Anyone know anything about them??
I believe that's the old Clearmeadow Range, which was run by Edelman's Gun Store, when they were still around. I understand that their licensing "service," which still exists, now runs it. I've never used it, so can't tell you anything, firsthand. Gary
I'm also interested in this club and of any other ranges in the Town of North Hempsted
I have shot at the indoor range, it is a decent range. Our bullseye club competes against them, and I know some of their members, they seem like a bunch of good guys! However, it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE:
A $300 init fee, $350.00 a year and the GALL to charge $100 for a background check, even though you have been background checked before if you have a handgun license!
And to top it all off, they call themselves Roslyn Club, and their indoor range is located in what looks like a terrible area.
However, they do have alot to offer, a 24h indoor range and their property in Calverton (near the range) for long range rifle shooting and trap and skeet (if you bring your own launchers).
I will probably get a slew of "hate" responses with this post, but I DON'T CARE because there is nothing here that I haven't expressed to them face-to-face.

I went over to try it out as a guest, and after battling traffic and an all but invisible location, I got there and they told me there was no bathroom (how can you not have a bathroom at a shooting range?) so I left. I did post this info on LIF somewhere.
You go inside the range (downstairs) and leave a note DO NOT USE! (I would). Then you go outside and open the "cellar" doors and go down and hang a target. I was told to make sure all doors are closed so nobody goes in and accidentally shoots while you are hanging a target. That's why I would leave a note inside.
Anyone know when American Outdoors is opening their range on RTE 109??

Spoke to the counter guys last week and they said within a few weeks. Told me to call the same number that is currently listed for 110 and it will be the same number at the new location.

I can currently carry concealed in 18 states... but not the one I live in.
There's a separate entrance, to the target area or, if you really prefer, you can duck walk, down the tube. When you change targets, you close the door, to the shooting-points end of the tubes, then take the keys with you. That way, no one can get in, while you're down range. Gary

That would be a serious workout I don't think I could recover from .
As Gary mentioned, I always take the keys with me to insure that no one enters the rifle tube area while I'm on the other end changing targets.
An aside, it is really something strange the first time you shoot in the rifle tubes and hear the echo of the shot running up and down the tube .
