I have never posted on this forum before but have been reading it for quite some time. I as many others here do not have a normal 9 to 5 job and would like if possible to compile a list of ranges that I could either go to or become a member of to be able to shoot at any time (Nassau or Suffolk). I would appreciate all/any help. Thanks.

That I know of in Eastern Suffolk County. Where are you coming from?
The two ranges I go to include Calverton and they close at Dusk on a good day. Then Medford Shooting Range closes at 8:30pm during the week.
There is another private club out east called the Pine Barrens Range of Westhampton, but as far as I know it is all outside therefore only open until dusk like Calverton. Long Island Shooting Range of Brookhaven closes at 4:30pm unless you are trap/skeet shooting til 9:00pm seasonally.
pm me for questions, I'm just a member there. nice, small , clean, 6 stations, .22 cal and pistol ONLY. Never crowded and I usually go on weekends. If you go to the shop , PM me, I'll tell you names and give you mine.
I'm coming from North Massapequa, NY (1175 willing to travel. This seems to come up also at every range I look at. At this time I'm looking to shoot my S&W MP15-22 which seems to be fine for alll indoor ranges.
Old Bethpage R & P in West Babylon (private range).
Specifications for Old Bethpage Rifle & Pistol Club by Gary Hungerford:
We open the membership, to new applicants, once, each year. All applicants must be interviewed, then accepted, by the Board of Directors, before being brought before the general membership, for their vote. Membership is limited, by our bylaws, to 200. The Location is on Kean Street, off Edison, in a custom-constructed building, in an industrial park. The building looks like just another of the factory/industrial buildings in that area, making it impossible for anyone to tell it’s not anything else. We held our last applicants’ meeting, on January 19th, 2010. At this point, I cna have you complete an application, for inclusion of the 2011 waiting list. I can E-mail applications to anyone interested. All applicants must be NRA members. We require your NRA membership number, which we verify, each year, as a condition to continued membership. We also very strongly recommend that you be a member of your county sportsmen’s/women’s federation (Nassau County Fish & Game Assn or Suffolk Alliance of Sportsmen, Inc.), to be a member of Old Bethpage.
We have an indoor-only facility with: 12 handgun/rimfire rifle points, to 50 feet (indoors), 1 FMJ/magnum handgun/rimfire rifle point, to seventy five feet (indoors), 2 centerfire rifle tubes, to 100 yards [300 feet] (indoors), 2 indoor areas which can be utilized as classrooms: 1. the upstairs room can easily accommodate 50 students, plus staff and 2. the downstairs room (adjacent to and shielded from the shooting ranges) can accommodate 80 students, plus staff, There are separate male and female rest rooms (one each), Telephone facilities (pay phone) on premises; cellular service is also excellent, 1st year’s dues are $325; thereafter, dues are $200, per year, new members are required to participate in 1) a firearms training course, provided by the club and 2) a work party (the members perform 99% of the maintenance and repair work) It’s a key club, so you can pretty much come and go, as you please. However, we do have lockout time, from 11pm, until 6am, everyday, during which no one may enter the facility but, if you’re already in, no problem. You can call me, at the office, 9am~4:30pm, M~F, at (631) 226 7202, if you have any additional questions. That number also has 24/7 voice mail.

Not to belittle the Bethpage club , but you should know I left the club because there is also an assesment added to the annual dues of if I remember correctly $50.00 if you don't help in the clean up and you have to be asked to join the crew-so dues are/were $250.00 a year in reality. Is a nice club range though.
Have any of you heard anything about http://www.pistolpermits.com/ they say they have a range that is 24/7 in levittown. Anyone know anything about them??

Actually I'm looking forward to the work day. It's a chance to chip in and do a little something to keeping the range in good condition while holding down the annual cost to members.
Beyond that is a nice facility and super convenient for me since it's only 15 minutes from both my home and job. I hit the range for an hour before work on some days and right after work on others. Usually I've got the whole place to myself.

Don't know much about the range, but I'm sure you'll get quite a few opinions about ERdelman's Pistol Service.
Yea... don't use there service or anyone's for that matter to get a pistol license. The pistol department doesn't like these third party people getting involved.
Does anyone know anything about Roslyn Rifle & Revolver Club Inc there site is under construction and I can't get any info according to this forum the post states it's a 24hr range. What are the requirements???

My buddy belongs to this club, personally I don't like the indoor range, you are not allowed to shoot jacketed bullets, lead only. There are no target carriers and it is 50 feet only. When we leave there the bottom of our shoes and completely covered in lead. They have a outdoor range also, that one is nice. It is about a mile from the Calverton range.
Hows the ventilation. That much lead laying around, your nose has to be clogged with particles. Whats the backstop. Steel Plate and ballistic board?
The ventilation system is decent, and the backstops are steel plate. I'll be honest, I really don't like going there because of the lead exposure, it's nasty. I go once or twice a year because my bud would call and say you want to shoot? And of course I always do. I would never bring my kids there. But like I said before the Calverton part of the range is awesome and worth the money.
There is surprisingly little lead on the floor when I went there. The ventilation was adequate, but any rapid firing quickly overwhelemed the unit.
The place is clean, the backstop is steel, and there is a lead trap. I practice with LRN's anyways, so it acutally works out quite well for me. Glen cove is much closer, so I might have to check it out.
